Rabbits

Hunting All Year

Ireland has a very strong population of Rabbits and if not controlled properly theses little animals can cause a lot of damage. At River and Field Adventures we control the rabbit population on local farms which makes for some great sport. While hunting rabbits of guides are accompanied by dogs and ferrets. We use dogs to hunt heavy cover to flush out the rabbits to waiting guns. One of our favourite methods at River and Field Adventures is using ferrets to bolt the rabbits from their burrows and taking them down with the aid of shotguns. The speed at which these little rockets erupt from their burrows will be a challenge for even the most proficient shotgun hunter.
